James Cook University (JCU) is seeking an experienced clinician and educator to join our College of Medicine and Dentistry as Senior Lecturer, Child and Adolescent Health. This part-time role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and clinical coordination in a socially accountable medical program.

About the Role

As Senior Lecturer, Child and Adolescent Health, you will:

  • Teach and assess medical students in paediatrics through lectures, tutorials, bedside teaching, and clinical examinations.
  • Coordinate Child and Adolescent Health clinical rotations within the MBBS program.
  • Contribute to collaborative research and curriculum development.
  • Support JCU’s mission to improve health outcomes for rural, remote, and underserved communities.

About You

We are looking for a passionate medical educator who brings:

  • Registration as a medical practitioner in Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) or equivalent.
  • Extensive clinical experience in paediatrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in undergraduate medical education.
  • Understanding of rural and remote health issues and commitment to JCU’s values, including respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Desirable:

  • Research experience and publications in paediatric health.
  • Experience in rural or remote clinical practice.
  • Willingness to undertake further training in medical education.
