Team Leader, Academy Marketing

We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Team Leader, Academy Marketing to join our Brand and Marketing Services team.

  • Full time, continuing opportunity | 36.25 hours a week
  • Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
  • HEWL 7: $ 99,878 - $110,446 per year plus up to 17% employer superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE

This university-wide leadership role leads the Academy Marketing team and the delivery of academy marketing services across all JCU Colleges. Working in partnership with College and University stakeholders, you will drive strategic marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness, program engagement and uptake across JCU’s academic portfolio.

  • Providing day-to-day leadership, direction and support to the team of Academy Marketing Advisors, including, monitoring delivery, developing team capability, and promoting collaboration and consistent practice.
  • The role also directly manages the marketing portfolio for the College of Medicine and Dentistry (CMD), delivering academy marketing services for CMD in addition to leading the broader Academy Marketing function.
  • Coordinate marketing priorities and resources across all Colleges, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Use customer insights and advanced data analysis to influence stakeholder decision-making, improve the customer journey and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction and support to the Academy Marketing team, including allocating and prioritising work, developing capability and monitoring performance against agreed plans and service standards.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE ROLE

You will have degree qualifications and experience in marketing or communications, together with contemporary knowledge of marketing strategies, data analysis and reporting. You will demonstrate experience managing strategic projects from concept through to post-project analysis, with outcomes aligned to organisational objectives.

Strong people leadership capability is essential, including experience leading and developing a team, allocating and prioritising work, managing budgets and workflows, and supporting staff to deliver quality outcomes across a diverse portfolio. You will also bring high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of the stakeholders, partnerships and marketing considerations relevant to academic disciplines and Colleges in the higher education sector is desirable.
