We now have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our team in the Financial and Business Services Directorate.

  • Full-time continuing opportunity | 36.25 hours per week
  • Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus
  • HEWL 5: $78,740.99 - $89,310.33 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE

With a focus on managing the financial aspects of research grants, you will collate and analyse a diverse range of financial information, reports and data, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, procedures and contractual requirements. A key responsibility of the role is maintaining the integrity of financial data and preparing accurate financial reports for research grants, including processing journals, invoices and other financial transactions, while identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will deliver high-quality, customer-focused financial support and build strong working relationships across the University. Through your advice and support, staff will be well informed of their financial responsibilities and compliance obligations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Success in this role will come from your ability to balance technical expertise with a genuine commitment to customer service. You'll bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate a variety of financial and non-financial information. You will partner with JCU’s researchers and business leaders to provide financial advice and information to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to grant funding body guidelines.
