  • Full-time: 36.25 hours per week
  • Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus
  • Successful candidate must be based in Townsville or willing to relocate before commencement.
  • HEWL 8: $111,960 - $128,567 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will support effective decision-making and contribute to the University’s financial sustainability by delivering high-quality financial management advice and services. As a key member of the financial management team, you will support budgeting and forecasting processes, develop realistic financial projections aligned with strategic priorities, and help manage finance-related risks through financial modelling, business cases and capital planning. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by developing practical financial management tools, strengthening policies and procedures, and supporting the use of business intelligence and data warehousing systems. Your analysis and insights will help maintain key financial performance metrics, interpret results for stakeholders, and ensure data integrity through accurate reporting on financial performance against targets.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

You will bring relevant qualifications in business, accounting or a related field, together with a CA/CPA accreditation and contemporary knowledge of accounting standards. Your background in auditing, business consulting, financial evaluation and modelling will support your ability to provide sound, practical and value-adding advice. You will be confident in anticipating management information needs, identifying key issues, evaluating outcomes and translating financial insights into clear recommendations. Strong organisational, problem-solving and administrative skills will enable you to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and exercise sound judgement and initiative. As an effective communicator, you will build and maintain productive working relationships, consulting and liaising confidently with staff across the University and with external stakeholders.
