About the Role
James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a dynamic Research Impact and Communications Advisor to join our Research Strategy and Performance team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver expert communication and engagement services to researchers across the University, manage stakeholder relationships, and enhance JCU’s research reputation through impactful communication strategies and promotional outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evidence-based communication and engagement plans to support research strategy.
  • Create high-quality, engaging content across multimedia, web, and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate events and activities that showcase JCU’s research impact and reputation.
  • Build strong relationships with researchers and internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Support researchers in promoting research outcomes and impact through resources, templates, and best-practice guidance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications and experience in research communications, research impact, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to create engaging content across various media formats.
  • Strong digital literacy, including website content management and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience coordinating programs and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of research impact principles (desirable).
