We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Manager, Space and Minor Works Projects to join the Estate Directorate within the Services Division.

  • Full-time opportunity | 36.25 hours per week | Full-time role.
  • Townsville location | Travel between campuses may be required from time to time.
  • HEWL 9: $130,115 - $137,625 plus up to 17% superannuation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Associate Director, Planning and Capital Development, you will lead the effective utilisation and continuous improvement of JCU’s built environment through strategic space planning, workplace design and the delivery of minor works and refurbishment projects.

You will oversee project prioritisation, scope, resources, budgets, procurement, contracts, contractors, governance and performance reporting, ensuring minor projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets and to agreed quality standards. You will also provide expert advice to University stakeholders and lead a high-performing team focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation and service excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

You will bring a relevant degree and extensive experience leading diverse minor works, refurbishment, workplace design and space optimisation portfolios. Your background will include project planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, procurement, contract administration, contractor management and the oversight of significant operational and project budgets.

You will be a skilled people leader and communicator who can influence outcomes, build capability, manage competing priorities and apply strategic, analytical and sound problem-solving judgement in a complex organisational environment.
