This is a rare opportunity to provide strategic leadership to a high-profile collective impact program that brings together communities, service providers, researchers and government to improve outcomes where they matter most.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, FNQ Connect, you will lead the implementation of FNQ Connect priorities across pilot sites including Kowanyama, the Tablelands and Cairns. You will guide and mentor a multidisciplinary Backbone Team, coordinate complex stakeholder partnerships, and drive evidence-informed action that delivers real change on the ground.

You will also play a key role in strengthening FNQ Connect’s long-term sustainability — contributing to funding strategies, influencing policy, and representing the initiative at national and international forums.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing strategic leadership for the delivery of FNQ Connect’s collective impact priorities
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing Backbone Team
  • Driving planning, delivery and accountability across multiple sites and stakeholders
  • Supporting evaluation, learning and reporting to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Building strong, culturally responsive partnerships with communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders
  • Championing FNQ Connect’s vision locally, nationally and internationally

About you

You are a respected leader with deep expertise in public health, disability, community development or systems change, and a strong track record of delivering complex, place-based initiatives. You thrive in collaborative environments, bring credibility with diverse stakeholders, and are motivated by work that creates lasting social impact.
