We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Examinations and Graduations Officer to join our team in the Student Services and Support Directorate and play a key role in delivering high-quality examination and graduation services.

  • Part-time opportunity - 29 hours per week backfilling two staff members currently on flexible work arrangements. Further details about the appointment will be discussed during the shortlisting process.
  • Fixed term to April 2027
  • Based at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield
  • HEWL 5: $78,740 - $89,310 per annum (pro-rata) plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will provide well-informed, responsive support to students and staff, helping to create positive experiences and ensuring their needs are met on an ongoing basis. This role involves supporting the coordination and management of end-of-study examinations and University graduations, maintaining the integrity of student records across various online systems, and ensuring all services comply with University policies and procedures. By contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, you will help enhance operational processes and support a high-performance, collaborative, and innovative culture at JCU.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You bring a relevant qualification, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training, to this role. You will demonstrate strong organisational, administrative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines while exercising discretion, judgement, and initiative. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will liaise and collaborate effectively with staff and students at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other student and learning-related software is also required.
