We now have an exciting opportunity for a Client Services Officer to join our team in the Student Services Directorate.

  • Continuing position
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Located at the Cairns Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield
  • HEWL 5: $78,740 - $89,310 per annum (pro-rata) plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll deliver high-quality customer service, responding to student enquiries in a consistent, skilled and knowledgeable manner to enhance the student experience at JCU. You will provide timely information and accurate advice, and support students to connect with specialist university services, including student counselling, disability support and careers advice. You will support the efficient operation of these teams, undertaking administrative activities for the Inclusion, Wellbeing and Outreach Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

As an experienced customer service superstar, you’re accustomed to managing high numbers of enquiries in person, via phone and email, providing information and advice whilst exercising confidentiality and discretion. You will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage sensitive or challenging conversations in a professional and respectful manner, and the ability to engage effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds. You’re familiar with the interpretation and application of policies, procedures and processes with ability to acquire proficient knowledge to inform others. With effective organisational and problem-solving skills, you’re able to manage your own workflow and prioritise to ensure deadlines and targets are met in a high-volume work environment. You’re also proficient in a range of software applications including the Microsoft Officer suite with ability to adapt to the use of new software packages with high attention to detail.
