The Opportunity
Join James Cook University’s Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) as the Allied Health Clinical Lead, supporting innovative, inter-professional health education and service delivery across the Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area.
You’ll provide clinical leadership in the Top of Australia Aged Care project, coordinating student-led health service learning programs that enhance access to allied health services while offering students invaluable hands-on experience in remote practice.
What You’ll Do

Lead and coordinate inter-professional student service learning programs in collaboration with community and health partners.

Manage student recruitment, supervision, and support for community-based placements.

Foster strong relationships with local health services and community stakeholders.

Contribute to developing an evidence base for innovative service learning and workforce development models.

Promote culturally responsive and sustainable health service delivery in remote and First Nations contexts.
About You
You are an experienced and passionate allied health professional who thrives in dynamic, community-oriented environments. You’ll bring:

A recognised allied health qualification and AHPRA registration (or equivalent).

Experience working in remote Indigenous contexts.

Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Demonstrated teaching or clinical education experience.

A collaborative, culturally sensitive approach to inter-professional practice.
Desirable qualifications include postgraduate study or experience in service learning models. Allied health professionals from fields such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology, dietetics, or podiatry are strongly encouraged to apply.
