About the Role

James Cook University (JCU) is seeking an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health, located on beautiful Thursday Island.

In this role, you will provide a broad range of administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient daily operations of the Centre. Your responsibilities will include general office coordination, finance and travel processing, record management, assisting with student and staff logistics, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong administrative experience in a busy office environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence working independently and using initiative
  • A flexible, can-do attitude and a commitment to supporting teams in remote settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with university systems (desirable)

About the JCU Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health

The Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) is a federally funded University Department of Rural Health, focused on improving the remote and rural health workforce. Based in Mount Isa with regional nodes, MCRRH supports healthcare education and training across outback northern Queensland, with a mission to lead excellence in remote, rural, and Indigenous health.
