Join the James Cook University (JCU) Central Queensland Centre for Rural & Remote Health (CQCRRH) team in Emerald as a Part-Time Aboriginal Allied Health Assistant and help improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in rural and remote Queensland.
About the Role
In this rewarding position, you will support the delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate allied health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Working closely with allied health professionals, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and other health professionals in providing care.

Facilitating communication between clients, families, and healthcare providers in a respectful, inclusive way.

Supporting treatment plans and contributing to community outreach initiatives.

Maintaining accurate records and assisting in the development of culturally relevant resources.
This role is suited to someone with strong cultural knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to improving community health and wellbeing.

About the Central Queensland Centre for Rural & Remote Health
The CQCRRH in Emerald is part of a national network of University Departments of Rural Health funded through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program. The Centre aims to strengthen clinical placements, embed students in local health services, and improve health outcomes in collaboration with communities, with a strong focus on Indigenous engagement.
