- Academic Level C: $133,495 - $153,251 + 17% superannuation contributions.
- Academic Level D: $159,835 - $175,633 + 17% superannuation contributions.
- Academic Level E: $204,612 + 17% superannuation contributions.
About the Role
James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a passionate and experienced academic to lead and inspire in the field of Canine and Feline Internal Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of future veterinarians through innovative teaching, impactful research, and high-quality clinical service.
As a Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and effective education to undergraduate veterinary science students, both online and face-to-face. You will also contribute to curriculum development, mentor colleagues, and lead research initiatives in companion animal medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and assessments in canine and feline internal medicine.
- Provide leadership within the companion animal section of the Veterinary Sciences discipline.
- Offer high-quality clinical services and mentor veterinarians in internal medicine.
- Develop and manage research programs and supervise postgraduate students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Support JCU’s values, reconciliation initiatives, and sustainability goals.
What You’ll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent, registrable in Queensland.
- Higher degree (Masters or PhD) in internal medicine
- Formal training in internal medicine (e.g. ANZCVS, DACVIM, DECVIM).
- A track record in research, with a history of securing funding and publishing in high-impact journals relevant to opportunity.
- Teaching experience, including curriculum development and student supervision.
- A commitment to clinical excellence and advancing veterinary medicine through research and innovation.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
