James Cook University is seeking an experienced strategic and operations leader who is passionate about improving rural and remote health and supporting health and medical education and workforce development in Northwest Queensland.
About the role
The Manager, Murtupuni Centre of Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) manages and oversees the daily operations of University Departments of Rural Health (UDRH) Mount Isa node and is responsible for the day-to-day management of key business and administrative processes.
Key responsibilities
• Provide leadership in the planning and executing of MCRRH’s strategic and operational priorities, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes aligned with strategic and operational plans.
• Support senior academic and administrative leadership by providing effective budgeting, procurement and forecasting that enables strategic decision making and achievements of key performance indicators.
• Drive innovation and process improvement by developing and implementing systems, processes and procedures for the efficient management of the UDRH.
• Deliver well-maintained, functional and fit-for-purpose infrastructure by coordinating development, refurbishment and maintenance activities.
About you
You are an experienced leader with strong judgement, the ability to manage complexity, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
You will bring:
• Business, Management and/or Finance qualifications and experience appropriate to a HEWL 8 role under the Enterprise Agreement.
• Proven senior leadership and people management experience, ideally in health, education or regional service delivery.
• Broad project management experience, coordinating multiple concurrent projects and achieving successful outcomes in accordance with quality, time and budget constraints.
• High developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated broad financial, resource and infrastructure management experience.
