We now have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer, Pharmacy to join our team at the College of Medicine and Dentistry preferably based in Mackay, however candidates who are based in Cairns or Townsville will be considered.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Lecturer, Pharmacy

The Lecturer, Pharmacy plays a pivotal role in supporting the ongoing growth and success of the pharmacy discipline, ensuring excellence in teaching, strong leadership, and the continued achievements of one of Australia’s leading regional pharmacy programs.  You will deliver theoretical and clinical content across a range of subject areas, including the pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice, and/or clinical pharmacy, with potential opportunities to contribute to related content in other health programs.   This role may also involve acting as a subject coordinator, conducting research, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in collaborative consultation across the University and with health services in North Queensland. 


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will hold a degree and postgraduate qualifications in Pharmacy or other appropriate degree in a related area in the pharmaceutical sciences and demonstrate relevant teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Along with current (or eligible) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.  You will bring an understanding of the rural, remote, tropical and Indigenous contexts in relation to education and health service delivery. The ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, is essential.

Over the past four years, our Pharmacy discipline has seen significant growth in undergraduate and postgraduate program enrolments. Additionally, we have introduced service teaching within the medical program, increasing enhancing our interdisciplinary impact. With the transition to multi-site delivery and trimesterisation, the need for additional academic staff is crucial to sustain our momentum and drive continued growth and innovation.
