About the opportunity

As Animal Ethics Officer, you’ll provide professional advice, coordination and administrative support across JCU’s animal ethics processes. Working within Research and Innovation Services, you’ll help ensure accurate records, effective processes and reporting, and compliance with relevant legislation and the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes.

You’ll work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including academic researchers, government, industry and community, using your strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills to keep processes moving and provide informed guidance.

About you

You’ll be a highly organised and proactive professional with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You’ll bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience.
  • Strong administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to interpret policies and procedures and confidently guide others.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment.
