- Based at our Bebegu Yumba campus in Townsville
- Multiple full-time fixed-term opportunities are available, with appointment periods ranging from 5 to 12 months.
- HEWL 5: $78,740 - $89,310 p.a. + up to 17% super and other employee benefits
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
As an Administrative Officer, you will play a key role in supporting Colleges across James Cook University by delivering high-quality administrative, organisational and customer service support. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will contribute to the efficient delivery of services, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with University policies, procedures and systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and scheduling internal and external meetings and events
- Providing administrative support to Executive Team members and broader College operations
- Organising travel and accommodation arrangements
- Coordinating recruitment activities, including arranging interviews
- Drafting and preparing a range of communications and correspondence
- Liaising with staff, students, clients and key stakeholders
- Reviewing, processing and finalising ServiceNow requests
- Managing documentation and maintaining accurate records and databases
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You are a highly organised administrative professional with excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You have experience supporting senior staff or executive teams and are confident working across a range of systems and processes.
You will also demonstrate:
- Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a busy environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage high volumes of enquiries via phone and email
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerised systems and databases
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- A collaborative approach while also being able to work independently
