At James Cook University (JCU), we are committed to creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics. Join our Graduate Research School as a HDR Program Support Officer and play a key role in supporting Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and academic supervisors.

What you’ll do:

As the HDR Program Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide end-to-end administrative support for HDR candidature, including admissions, enrolments, milestones, and completions.
  • Ensure compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate milestone tracking and maintain accurate records.
  • Support HDR-related committees and boards.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to HDR candidates and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve HDR administrative processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualifications and/or experience relevant to HEWL 5 classification.
  • Knowledge of HDR candidature management processes and university policy compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • High-level organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Experience in providing customer service and resolving complex enquiries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other administrative systems.
